Our Faith

Our Faith

We Believe, Proclaim, And Live Out Biblical Truth!

Faith” is not primarily a feeling, but a reasonable and sound confidence in the truthfulness of everything found in the Bible—beginning with the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Biblical content in fact rightly invokes feelings of joy, gladness and hope.  But our response to personal Biblical study, Biblical preaching, and Biblical teaching, must also include a convinced mind and a determined will to love and obey Jesus Christ.

It is the Scriptures that teach us God’s will, from which we can distill and extract—in thoughtful ways—exactly what God wants us to know, and clearly what He wants us to be and do as one of Jesus’ disciples.

Matthew 28:18-20: “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

See below a condensed list of life changing beliefs we publicly confess to be the life-changing teachings of the Bible:

  • We are convinced that the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. This Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is incarnate and authoritative in all of it content.
  • We believe there is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that all humans are “sinners” and as such totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure and eternal wealth.
  • We believe that salvation is by God alone for those He sovereignly chooses. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal, morally perfect Son of God, who through His sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him alone for salvation.
  • We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people, not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit regenerates and indwells God’s people, thereby giving them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
  • We believe that Jesus will bodily and visibly return to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself
  • We believe that every aspect of the Christian’s life is to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, that of the Father, and the powerful assistance of the Holy Spirit.

While this list is a very condensed list of our faith, a more expansive treatment of it is found in the Westminster Confession of Faith. We never hold it equal to Scripture, but as a teaching tool that summarizes the Doctrine of Holy Scripture (we also say that it contains the system of doctrine taught in the Holy Scriptures) it is unsurpassed. The Confession is not a replacement for God’s Word, but a tool to teach and drive the student deeper into the Word! You can read the Westminster Confession of Faith here. (with Scripture Proofs)

The principal and adequate reason of all divine worship is what God is in Himself.
